TAT Partners with KTC to Drive Sustainable Tourism and Promote Eco-Friendly Hotels

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has teamed up with Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) to promote sustainable tourism by supporting over 900 hotels and resorts nationwide that meet Green Hotel project standards. This joint campaign aims to boost tourist spending during the green season while raising awareness of the government’s Sustainable Tourism Goals (STGs) among tourism operators. The initiative also encourages participation in the CF-Hotels platform to track greenhouse gas emissions, with the ultimate goal of achieving Net Zero Tourism, in line with the growing global demand for environmentally conscious travel.

Community Involvement and Nature-Based Solutions To Protect Thai Coast

The ocean and the coast play important roles in Southeast Asia as a residential area and a source of livelihood. The region’s coastline spans a total length of 234,000 km and its ocean supplies around 40% of the global fish supply; at the same time, it is also the home to a third of mangroves and coral reefs in the region. Thailand itself has around 3,219 kilometers of coastline which is also responsible for tourism and the fishing industry.

Home IoT System for Comfort Environment and Energy Efficiency

Panasonic and Chulalongkorn University are advancing research on the ‘Home IoT System Demonstration to Experiment Comfortable Environment and Energy Efficiency in Residential Projects‘ with SENA, N.C. Housing, and Sathaporn Estate. The project installs and tests Home IoT Systems in sample houses to identify comfortable living conditions and reduce energy costs for Thai residents. Additionally, the Thai government’s DEDE and Japan’s NEDO joined in to express a joint intention to enhance energy security. Support from both organizations will help expand the research findings and develop future designs for energy-saving homes in Thailand.
