COCOLAMP Saves Lost Baby Sea Turtles, An Innovation from Chulalongkorn Students

Students of the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University came up with the idea of “COCOLAMP” — light bulb shades that divert lights on the beach that interfere with the spawning of sea turtles and help sea turtle hatchlings to crawl safely into the sea. This innovation is for the conservation of sea turtles, and the promotion of their coexistence with humans.

Thailand’s Koh Samui Cruise Terminal Set to Open by 2032

A cruise terminal in Koh Samui is expected to open in 2032 to boost tourism in Surat Thani,construction of the project is expected to start in 2029 and take at least three years to complete. The cruise terminal is anticipated to be fully operational in 2032. The terminal is estimated to handle 120 cruise landings annually and attract at least 180,000 cruise visitors a year.

TAT Partners with KTC to Drive Sustainable Tourism and Promote Eco-Friendly Hotels

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has teamed up with Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) to promote sustainable tourism by supporting over 900 hotels and resorts nationwide that meet Green Hotel project standards. This joint campaign aims to boost tourist spending during the green season while raising awareness of the government’s Sustainable Tourism Goals (STGs) among tourism operators. The initiative also encourages participation in the CF-Hotels platform to track greenhouse gas emissions, with the ultimate goal of achieving Net Zero Tourism, in line with the growing global demand for environmentally conscious travel.
