Akasa Air Partners with BCAS to Strengthen Aviation Security

Akasa Air, one of India’s fastest-growing airlines, is committed to enhancing safety and security in the aviation sector. To further this commitment, Akasa Air has teamed up with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) to observe Aviation Security Culture Week from August 5th to 11th, 2024. This initiative, which follows guidelines from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), emphasizes the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring aviation security. It serves as a reminder that everyone, from airline staff to passengers, plays a vital role in maintaining a secure environment.

The theme for this year, “Enhancing Passenger Security through Effective Divestment,” focuses on the importance of efficient security screening processes. The goal is to raise awareness and promote best practices that ensure a safe and secure travel experience.

Akasa Air is actively participating in this initiative by educating passengers on the importance of following proper screening procedures. Through social media, airport signs, and SMS alerts, the airline is advising passengers on how to prepare for security checks and the importance of not carrying prohibited items. In addition to this, Akasa Air is conducting educational activities and training sessions for its staff. These efforts are supported by digital campaigns and a company-wide pledge ceremony to promote security awareness and responsible behavior.

Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO of Akasa Air, expressed the airline’s commitment to safety, saying, “At Akasa Air, our top priority is the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew. Ensuring safe operations is about fostering a proactive, safety-oriented mindset at every level of our organization. We have partnered with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security to observe Aviation Security Culture Week, reinforcing our commitment to aviation safety, security, and excellence. We are dedicated to continuously improving our practices and working collaboratively to uphold the trust placed in us by our valued customers and industry stakeholders.”

Akasa Air has quickly gained popularity in India due to its reliable on-time performance, operational efficiency, and positive customer feedback. Since its launch in August 2022, the airline has served over 11 million passengers. Akasa Air now operates flights to 22 domestic and five international destinations, including major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and international destinations like Doha, Jeddah, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait City.

This initiative by Akasa Air highlights the airline’s dedication to ensuring a safe and secure travel experience for all its passengers, reinforcing its position as a trusted and preferred airline in India.
